(Modern) Armin X Reader - I'd never do that (8)

“This is it” you whisper quietly to yourself as you grip the steering wheel of Armin’s car, the force of your grip turning your knuckles white in the process as you try to steady your nerve, “It’s all coming out today.” After taking a second to regain yourself you slowly open the car door and step out onto the pier car park, surveying the all too familiar surroundings as you did. After taking a second to get your bearings you walk towards the far end of the pier, out to were the sea is. After walking for a little while you see a lone dark figure leaning against the railing at the very end of the pier, looking out towards the clear blue sea. You cautiously take your position next to him and glance out at the waves as well, taking in there gentle beauty.


“So you came then” Levi murmured, not taking his eyes off the waves.


“Of course I did” you replied “why wouldn’t I?” Levi closed his eyes and smirked, shaking his head slightly as he did as if he found something amusing. “I thought that maybe your new boyfriend would disagree with our meeting, or at the least beg to come along.” You glanced at him “no, he just told me to be careful. He doesn’t try to restrict what I do or interfere when I don’t want him to unless it’s necessary which I respect greatly.” Levi opened his eyes and returned his gaze back to the sea, refusing to make eye contact with you although his smirk still stood strong. “I hear you two are banging now” he remarked casually, as if he was discussing the weather rather than his ex-girlfriends sex life. “Urg, where’d you find that out?” you groaned, disgusted by how your private life was a hot topic of conversation. Levi shrugged “places. Not that it bothers me of course; you can fuck whoever you like now I really couldn’t give a damn. Just be careful who finds out.” You gave his a small nod “will do” you say quietly.


“So” Levi said, his smirk disappearing to be replaced by his trademark stoic look “I suppose I should explain myself.” You scrunch up your face a bit before relaxing it again “that would be nice” you replied a tad sarcastically. Levi sighed at your tone but chose to ignore it. “I’m gay” he said abruptly “or at the very least lost interest in women.”


You turned to face him fully now, unable to hide the shock from your face or your voice. “What!?” you exclaimed, unable to process his words properly. Levi glanced at you slightly, his eyes narrowed into a sword sharp glare. “You fucking heard me” he hissed, his anger taking you by surprise. “B-but I don’t see how!?” you stammered “I mean you were with Petra! And as far as I can tell I pretty sure she’s a girl. And what about me? How long were we together for? This doesn’t make sense!”  


Levi sighed sharply in an attempt to control his anger. You didn’t quite know why he was so worked up all of a sudden but you knew you should tread carefully; Levi could be dangerous when he was angry. “Well” Levi breathed out, trying his hardest to calm down “this is why I wanted to meet you, to explain. So, if you would shut up for fucking two seconds, I would like to do that.” You stood still for a minute as you tried to process the conversation and what you’d just heard, after you felt comfortable you slowly nodding for him to continue. After seeing your signal Levi began his explanation.


“I guess I always knew that I like guys” Levi began, looking down at the sea with a look of defeat in his eyes, as if he was ashamed to finally admit his feelings after so long. “I just didn’t want to admit it; you could almost say I was ashamed of my feelings so I hid them, pretending to be someone I’m not. When I got my first male crush I didn’t know what to do, it scared me in a way as I was always told I should like girls and that liking other boys was wrong.” You blinked at him “No it’s not” you whispered calmingly, giving his shoulder a gentle rub. “I know tones of gay guys, well Jean’s bisexual but you get my drift. There’s nothing wrong with being gay.” Levi smiled at you but continued with his story, as if he HAD to get it off his chest.


“You remember when I used to beat up Eren in high school?” Levi asked as you giggled at the memory, remembering all too well how much of an idiot Eren used to be, well still is. Eren used to follow Levi around like a lost little puppy, always trying to impress him and get on his good side. Not that it did him any good of course; Levi would just hit Eren and tell him to leave him alone. “Of course!” you laugh lightly “how could I forget?” Levi grinned before speaking again “well in truth I did it because I had a thing for him. I didn’t like how Eren made me feel about him, how nervous I would get in his presence or how my heart would race every time I heard his name or saw his face. So, I beat him up a bit. I was angry about how he had that effect on me back then and I just wanted it to stop. I knew Eren didn’t like me in that way so...”


“So you blocked him out” you finished, ending his sentence for him, finally starting to understand everything. “After a while” Levi continued “I started developing feelings for you, and they were real feelings by the way” Levi said quickly, desperate to get across to you that you weren’t just a cover up. “So I latched onto them feelings and for the most part I was happy, we had a lot of fun together and I truly was in love with you, well, that was until I started spending more time around HIM.”


You started paying more attention to this part of the conversation, eager to find out when things started to change, and why. “Soon after I started being around him more I started developing feelings for him. I always thought that my homosexual feelings were just a faze so when they started to return I began to panic. Soon afterwards I started losing my feelings for you, even during sex it just wasn’t the same and I became desperate to deny the fact I actually liked him.”


Slowly you could see where the conversation was going, and how he’d ended up banging Petra in his office. “I became so desperate to deny everything that I started sleeping with other women, hoping that they could make me feel how I used to about you, and that maybe if I could do that I’d stop liking him. However, no matter how hard I tried it just got worse, I had to start thinking about him before I could even get hard... and that’s when you caught me... with her...”


“What about when you came to the house?” you asked “to get me back?” Levi shrugged “I was scared” he muttered “I’d never felt like that about anyone, Eren was just a crush, it wasn’t anything THIS big. I wanted someone close to me that I could trust but I didn’t want to admit I was gay quite yet and I guess I still wanted to like you in that way, even if I didn’t actually feel like that anymore.” You nodded slowly as you started to accept his explanation, and respect what he was trying to deal with. “So what happened after that?” you questioned “after you came to Armin’s that is.”


Levi kept his head low, using his hair to hide his eyes and the tears that were threatening to form in their depts. “I went to confront him about my feelings” Levi chocked out “I was angry and I needed someone to take it out on. When I got there though he said he understood and that he liked me as well. This just made me angrier so I shouted a bit, I think I also cried and I’m pretty sure I smashed a chair but I’m not one hundred percent certain on that. Anyway, after I calmed down we talked for a bit and... Well most of that’s private but were together now at least. I wanted to tell you and explain everything so I called you and asked you to meet me here and well... the rest you know...”


Levi let out a deep breath, finally relaxing after letting out his secret. He looked tired; as if the stress of the last few weeks had been taking there toll on him. You both stood there in silence, unsure of what to say to each other, finally however you decided to break it by asking: “So who is you new boyfriend? You never actually said his name?” Levi looked at you properly for the first time, his face looking surprisingly sweet and innocent. “I didn’t?” he questioned giving you a confused look “I could have sworn I did.” You shook your head “No, you defiantly didn’t” Levi blinked at you “Oh; well I guess I have no problems telling you. My new partners Erwin, Erwin Smith.”


You stare at him “You mean Erwin eyebrows? Your boss Erwin? The same Erwin who came with us on that camping trip that time?” Levi glared at you slightly “Do you know any other Erwin?” he said sounding annoyed. You couldn’t help but laugh “well he is kinda hot I guess, I mean he does have a nice body, I don’t think I know a guy quite so muscular.” Levi rolled his eyes but laughed with you. “You’re still important to me” he said on a more serious note “and I don’t want this to ruin our friendship. So if you still want to, do you want to stay in touch?” You smiled at him “Sure” you said “that would be great!” Levi nodded “good because I took the bus down here and I don’t particularly want to get a bus back so seeing as you most likely came by car you can give me a lift.” You gave Levi a confused look “Um, I didn’t say I would give you a lift” you muttered although you were doing a bad job of hiding your smile. Levi just rolled his eyes “I don’t really care” he said before grabbing you arm and pulling you along “now where’s your car? I want to get home soon.” “HEY!” you shout although you were grinning at the same time “I didn’t agree!”

You walked in the front door and took your shoes off before slipping your feet into your slippers, feeling instantly relaxed by their softness. After you took a moment to enjoy being home again you walked into the living room to find Armin waiting for you. “So how’d it go?” he asked as you flopped onto the sofa next to him, snuggling up to him as he rapped an arm around you. “Good” you replied with a yawn “everything’s all sorted now, me and Levi are friends again and there’s no harm done.” Armin nodded although you could tell he was think things through “well that good” he said after a minute, giving you a kiss on the forehead. “Yeah it is good isn’t it.” You say calmly before adding “Oh, Levi’s gay by the way, he’s dating Erwin now.”  


Armin looked at you in surprise “what? Are you serious?” You nod “Of course I am! Do you think I’d make that up?” Armin just stared at you “well I’d never have guessed that one” he muttered as you laughed, knowing you would use this opportunity to tease him. “Looks like you can’t figure out everything” you say teasingly as you try to provoke him, which Armin responds to by grabbing you playfully and pulling you onto his lap, where he showers your neck in kisses. “You wanna say that again?” he asked as you giggled. “Well if you respond like that I will” you replied as you leaned in to give him a kiss, rapping your arms round his neck as he holds you close. You kissed Armin for a while, loving the way his lips felt against yours. “You know” Armin says playfully once you’ve broken apart “we could continue this argument in the bedroom if you like...” You blush at his words but smile as well. “I’d love to” you answer with equal playfulness.


Before you can even register what’s happening Armin picks you up bridal style and carries you through the house. “Good” he purrs in your ear causing you to blush even harder “I was hoping you’d say that.”

You woke up in the early hours of the morning snuggled into Armin’s bare chest, causing you to smile softly. The rhythmic movement of his breathing both relaxed you and let you know he was still asleep, not that you couldn’t tell by his face of course, he always looked his cutest when he was sleeping. You took the moment of peacefulness to think over everything that had happened over the past few weeks. You thought about how all of this started, about how you went to Armin for help and ended up slowly falling in love with him to the point where you couldn’t imagine life without him. You thought about Levi, and how you managed to solve everything you had against him, so he was a friend again, no, your best friend again and a friend you needed by your side.


You felt Armin stir and looked up to see his eyes flicker open. He gazed down at you and gave you a soft smile. “What are you doing awake this early?” he asked, blinking sleep from his eyes. “I could ask you the same” you replied with a smile to which Armin countered “I asked you first.” You shrugged and snuggled deeper into Armin’s chest, rapping your arms around his body as you did. “I was just thinking about how perfect everything is now” you said honestly “I’m glad this happened in truth because it means I can be with you.” Armin smiled, “It’s probably selfish but I’m glad it happened as well” he admitted “and I’ve been thinking as well.” You returned your gaze to his “about what?” you asked.


“Well” Armin said “I’m not sure if this is a good idea but, I was thinking...”
